The game is being developed with Godot (and other free tools such as Krita and Blender). For more info check out https://syntheticstars.org/ (you'll also find the link to our repo)

You won't find a lot of tutorials or utilities around, and we actually stumbled upon a few bugs in both of the tools whilst working on it (bugs rapidly fixed by maintainers, so a big shout out to them!) Actually, speaking of utilities, we've written a few things on our own, specifically a library to implement FlatBuffers inside Godot. You can find the repo here and we hope it can help you as well: https://gitlab.com/JudGenie/flatbuffers So, is our implementation perfect? Haha, hell no! There is surely room for improvement, but it's fine, it's a start: because in the end it is something to (hopefully) pave down the road for our and future multiplayer free software games. So, well, see you in the repos! Or just around, between an update and another. Cheers ❤️ More info on https://syntheticstars.org/

Absolutely. We’re aiming for a competitive videogame

(yes, your previous comments have played a role in this :D)

The source code of Synthetic Stars is now online!
Hey there, the source code of our multiplayer FOSS fps game "Synthetic Stars" is now online! You can find the repo here: https://gitlab.com/synthetic-stars Yes, this is just a preliminary phase (you can play around with the camera as well as some movement mechanics), but we've came to the conclusion that being open from the very beginning allows everyone to have fun with it even now and... well, why not? 🍆 If you are interested to the development, follow us for the next updates! 🔫 [Mastodon](https://mastodon.social/web/accounts/106529981983207317) Join our community on Matrix: [Matrix](https://matrix.to/#/%23syntheticstars:matrix.org)

The code is not available yet because we’re still missing fundamentals. Better said: Godot physics will be 100 times better in 4.0 as physics becomes deterministic. So we’re just waiting for 4.0 to roll out, whilst in the meanwhile we’re focusing on things like cameras and weapons. In short, there is nothing to do but move a camera around. The gun was made using Blender and Krita only 💆‍♀️ If you want to stay tuned, follow us on [Mastodon](https://mastodon.social/@syntheticstars), [Twitter](https://twitter.com/syntheticstars1), and/or join our [Matrix Space](https://matrix.to/#/!pFWZCylHoYLaGzBGAx:matrix.org) ✨ If you want to support us, we also have a [Liberapay](https://liberapay.com/syntheticstars)
