This place is miserable
What surprised me as someone from the UK is just how large income inequality is in the US. But then again it does make a bit more sense when you remember all of the people who’re all up in their own shit and don’t understand why people can’t “just get a better job like I have if you want treatment for that, why don’t you just work harder” etc. It’s honestly staggering to me how there are so many dots with an annual household income over $100k-$125k. How is it even possible to be so fucked if they have that much money?
It sounds crazy, but a lot of people who make six figures are still living in debt, or at least payday to payday. There are many reasons for that, some structural and some are just these people making poor choices.
Income inequality is only part of the story though. Wealth inequality cannot be mathematically quantified, when the majority of people have zero net wealth at best, and a few people have billions.
Maybe they are making a great salary but are in a huge amount of debt; 4 years of college plus some kind of advanced degree is a lot of student debt.
Wonder what’s the comparison like between UK and other wealthy European countries.
Yes, and China!

Also heard recently that the age of suicide is getting lower and the rate of suicide is getting higher. Children as young as 5 have succeeded. US society is in rapid decline
