Can’t wait for them to invent some fresh propaganda to justify banning it. What is it gonna be? Prisonniers from ethnic minorities being put to jail disproportionately longer than members from the dominant group so they can perform extremely cheap labour for the rest of their lives?? Oh wait that’s literally the US

By the time it gets to that point America will be open mask-off fascists. I mean half the country already is.

I wasn’t so serious about predicting that it will be banned, I mostly cracked a joke that was a reference to the Tiktok ban and sanctions

You’re right they might not ban it if it doesn’t threaten their interests too much

More or less what i was expecting. The only way amy company is remotely going to have a dangerous level of marketshare would basically have to compete with Amazons services, as companies like Walmart wasnt even capable of doing so. Id fully welcome competition, but that wall is extremely steep.

I had no idea what Temu was. It just started showing up everywhere one day and honestly the site… Well… it does feel kind of scamy. I really can’t lie about that. It does. Idk if it IS scamy, but it just comes off that way to me. I usually look stuff up on AliExpress before checking any US retailers anyway. At least for uncommon items.

I’ve ordered maybe 5 times from them and never had any problem, my orders arrived in a week with all the items every time.

Ive heard rumors about credit card stealing, so I pay with PayPal just to be safe.

It is scammy, they keep stealing credit card information and keep sending bizarre wrong orders, or they just sell fake goods and tell you to shove it when they arrive. Imagine a Wish .com but even more evil.

      Do not use Temu.

To each their own. I wouldn’t take the risk after my coworker had 2,000 drained from his account, and it took support 6 months to help him. He had to essentially have his bank force temu into any sort of action.

Temu is great. I’ve got several hundred dollars worth of stuff from it, all decent quality. Most cheaper stuff you can get from amazon, you can get cheaper from Temu as the supply chain is much shorter. And the shipping is fast, unlike AliExpress. It’s owned by Pinduoduo. Haven’t had any problems with payment with a cc.

I use Temu all the time now. It’s great for small, Chinese-made items that you would normally pickup at your local dollar store or on Amazon. The shipping is fast too, but larger items tend to be more expensive than Amazon, likely because of this. Everything that I’ve ordered has been shipped in a tightly wrapped, plastic shipping bag. This isn’t a problem for me since I’m mostly ordering low cost items that aren’t fragile, but it’s something to be aware of. I’ve never had any issues and they once gave me a late delivery credit even though my order arrived on time!
