I’m interested on why you chose one over the other, if you tested a lot of them, and ultimately what do you use it for. And no, I’m not running a covert poll to develop a product, I’m genuinely interested.

I don’t use video software right now, but as a FOSS audio guy, I want to keep an open mind about media creation altogether in the free/libre software world.

    Kdenlive - just find it intuitive and does all I need.

    I have hardly any video editing experience, but within a day I was able to learn the basics of kdenlive, and really liked it.

    OpenShot for more complex stuff, AviDemux when I need to quickly trim something without any bells and whistles.

    I am not close to being an expert in this. My requirements are pretty simple, mostly just cropping videos and overlaying them over another. I use blender for this.

      Isn’t it overkill for this? I thought blender was complex for editing video.

        I can’t say honestly. The only other video editor I have tried was a pirated copy of Sony Vegas but that was a looong time ago.
