    That is in your area. Where I live, in Texas, all buildings have AC

      This is a UK newspaper. But now I think of it, I’m sure the EU has efficiency ratings and requirements, both for AC units and for buildings. I imagine it really just pertains to the USA, this problem.

    How about just don’t do it unless necessary? Around here only supermarkets do it and I hate it when they are refridgerators in the summer and saunas in the winter.

      Yes and they are huge high-ceilinged warehouses with tin roofs. They are wasteful both in the amount of air they heat, and in the heat losses to outside. Sometimes they even have a heater at the doorway, mostly heating the outside.
