If I ever made a game it would be under gpl. is there at least a way to sell those games?

Still, there isn’t a clear way to sell gpl software. a store platform only for open source games with a way to sell those games or donate directly would is a simple solution to software monetization.

I thought it would introduce more hidden gems and initiative in open source games if you had a store specifically for that.

If you’re gonna make a website for open source games at least give us the ability to review those games…

Reviews aren’t real? sure there are bots but all of the reviews I’ve read made human sense on most platforms. like you get their point why x game was good/bad. not being straight up nonsense.

Anyway, a review and rating system is required to make it easier for visitors to sort games out. decide which games they’re gonna play. that’s why movie websites are just mostly review sites. and I bet more visitors will come if something is useful for them. they’ll come back again when they want to find more games to play.

You can just sell precompiled binaries like any other software. As long as you provide the source code to those who buy it, it’s all good.

The FSF sold (I don’t know if they still do) their software on disks.
