Nothing new. If it tastes sweet and is processed, chances are it’s because the majority of its volume is sugar.
Yeah, but I didn’t really expect this from Nutella. Maybe its because Hazelnut is really expensive??
There’s that, but mostly because sugar signals the brain to release pleasant feeling chemicals and therefore is addictive through the same mechanism that stimulant drugs like nicotine are, so people are more inclined to want to eat more. Same with why they put caffeine in soda, it’s also addictive.
Sugar is in everything these days for this reason: including things like soup and bread where you don’t consciously taste it but it still affects your brain.
Thanks for the info. I have also heard that companies also add some other chemicals as well to make to food addictive.
Wouldn’t surprise me.
palm oil is also bad for forests and the environment
Oh yeah. Nothing like clearcutting forests that have existed longer than we have to feed our palm oil obsession.
Thanks for the info😀
Wish Nutella would be less sweet. Something like Dark Chocolate Nutella.
Nutella is okay for the rare indulgence, as someone who loves chocolates. It is not the healthiest thing out there though, I eat dark chocolate instead daily.
