Yes, the Soviets kept fighting, even though they were losing, but it wasn’t un-winnable. Even if it were comparable in the possibility of winning, they are fighting for much different things. The USSR fought to stop genocide and colonialism while defending socialism, Ukraine is just doing it because they wanna keep killing Donbas children, and they US wants to try a futile attempt to weaken Russia and eventually colonize them. What use would it be to keep sending people to die even when losing is certain, and all the enemy wants is for them to be a little less hostile?
