Reading between the lines, it doesn’t actually look like this is ideological resistance. What they’re actually complaining about is that their expert opinion isn’t being considered:
Some department staff said they feel as if Blinken and his team are uninterested in their own experts’ advice as they focus on supporting Israel’s expanding operation in Gaza, where the Palestinian militant group Hamas is based.
This suggests that people who actually have a clue realize that Gaza operation is going to be a debacle, and they’re actively distancing themselves from it.
Likewise the decision makers were uninterested in realist & paleoconservative warnings about NATO expansion. The people at the head keep seeming to have lethal levels of hubris.

I imagine their goal is to just cover their own asses when shit inevitably hits the fan.
This level of boneheaded close-mindedness should come as a surprise to no one. Biden is trailing the criminal fash trump by 15 points in the polls, yet refuses to drop out of the next election to get out of the way for literally any Dem to easily win, thus ensuring trump’s victory and the fall of American democracy. The hubris is infuriating.
