CTUIR grows only native plants—defined as indigenous species that evolved naturally in an ecosystem—and its sales to landscapers and home gardeners make up only a small portion of its business. The nursery’s main mission is to grow native plants that will go towards revegetating natural wildlife habitats in the high desert, upland and wetland areas of eastern Oregon and southeastern Washington.

Soapbox time - If you have land in your care like a yard or even a couple of pots on your doorstep you can help to give back some habitat to our non-human neighbors. Native plant nurseries in your area are a great way to get started.

My first through is have you reached out to any Native tribes or groups? The one mentioned in the article is in your region so they might have some resources listed. I’d also check local public universities to see if their agricultural department publishes anything of use. I wish I had more info to help but I’m struggling to find those resources too (and I’m on the opposite coast]
