Why are you using hashtags on lemmy
So that people who subscribed to the Hashtag from anywhere else get notified about it. But afaik this is only working in the topic as the rest doesn’t federate - at least to Mastodon.
No Lemmy doesnt federate hashtags.
And? Volunteer-run fedi instances are dealing with an unprecendented influx of users. Cut them some slack.
OP may just be excited because of the influx of user to a FOSS twitter alternative.
