Why is death note in the bottom row.

Also kirito shouldn’t be anywhere on this image. I instantly lose respect for people who like kirito unless SAO is the only anime they’ve seen.

Yeah major cringe actually to include Kirito in what you think is socially acceptable. Any of the bottom characters fill that slot better

Codified a solid three quarters of the low-effort trash isekai/harem anime tropes that have been getting used for the last 10-15 years. If I gotta see one more “wife-guy” type pseudoharem with some scrub-ass rizzless default create-a-character hit top rated, I’m throwing out my subscription services.

Oh yeah, i agree. I remember two similar animes running back then, SAO and Log Horizon and every weeb salivated for SAO and i remember i thought Log Horizon was much better.

Still it could be much worse, remember Hack Sign? Similar topic, but it was THE most boring anime i ever seen, though it also had one of the best soundtracks.

It’s interesting to me how popular/mainstream anime seems to be these days. When I used to watch a ton of it like 15+ years ago it was super niche in north america, now I feel like it comes up in discussion all of the time with people I wouldnt expect to watch it.

It was just hard to consume, the few animes that where broadcasted in my country were incredibly popular (DBZ, saint seiya). In latin america, every 90s kid is a fan of DBZ (not exagerating, literally everyone) when super came out i was in university and everyone talked about it, even young teachers 😅

Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, One Piece, One Punch Man, Beastars, Chainsaw Man, Aggretsuko,

I don’t even watch anime but I’ve still seen those. Anime has become extremely popular in these past few years.
