Obviously sms 2fa would be challenging to impliment. But I don’t know how hard it would be for Lemmy to use app based 2FA. I would love it if Lemmy supported app based 2fa to enhance security.

Is there any plans down the line to implement 2fa?

    We’d desperately need more devs to help implement things like this. Mastodon has 2FA I think, but they have probably 10x the number of devs that we have.

      I have no idea how hard such a thing would be to implement. Might be worth checking out for me. I would add it to Lemmy if I find out how to implement 2fa. I have tried to find 2fa on Fosstodon but could not find it. I assume it is not there.

        my guess is that when the rust stuff is well in place, it’ll be straightforward enough to add–but not before then. (that or whatever crate becomes canonical)
