@nutomic@lemmy.ml did most of the work this week, but I was able to:

  • Improve the post-listing action bars.
  • Fix an issue with websocket reconnects
  • Make a shortened version of relative time (for english at least). It now shows 1m for 1 minute, 1w for 1 week, etc.
  • Help fix our broken API tests, help test some of nutomics refactoring

Make a shortened version of relative time (for english at least). It now shows 1m for 1 minute, 1w for 1 week, etc.

It looks like both “minute” and “month” are being abbreviated as “m” as can be seen in this old thread: https://lemmy.ml/post/39753

I did see that, I can change month to the full word again.

why not m and M as used in examples of some DB editors for the datetime type.

https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/datetime.html

Even the own documentation represents it as that. Using uppercase for year, month and day and lowercase for hour, minute and second.

Ofc, all the time i am speaking how they represent the format of the datatype for letting people understand and make use of it when setting it.

I am not relating the time info here with db itself, only speaking how they represent the data in the example with only letters and trying to mix it with the representation of time here: 1M and 1m for example.

I can do that.

Perhaps change the m of minute to min instead, it seems more intuitive to me 🤷

I dont feel like I got that much done this week, but this is what I did:

  • added a config setting that disables https completely (for local debugging)
  • rewrote the activity sending code, which was quite rudimentary and wrong
  • wrote an overview of how federation works in lemmy
  • went through the issues and closed many that i already fixed months ago (and forgot to close)

I love you devs so much, this is such an amazing project!

No probs :)

I just noticed that there was a rss feed for the inbox. That’s amazing, I can disable email notifications and still have proper updates!
