Every time I drive past the projects, I see litter all over the ground.
When you’re worried about where you’ll be sleeping, which one of your friends just OD’d, and how you’re gonna get out; the topic of civic duty, environmentalism, and empathy to people who’ve shown you none is a bit ridiculous.
Well, you’ve just figured out how to make it out. Be different. Be strong.
rich folk don’t litter near their homes because it brings down property values lol
Oh. So they litter in poor neighborhoods, hugh?
Nah I was just kidding
Poor areas might have more homeless dogs and cats and humans checking out the valuable things from the trash cans, and might have less or badly paid cleaners.
Interesting. What a mess those animals and humans leave behind. We need a volunteer.
Garbage bin collectors and the like should be paid well ;-) And of course people should at a young age to be in tune with our planet Earth.
That reminds me, years ago I watched this nice film https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spring,_Summer,_Fall,_Winter…_and_Spring which has a part about having respect for our surroundings.
Some people just don’t care about life period. It’s difficult trying to reach them to teach them anything. Probably why they’re in those poor neighborhoods.
That sounds pretty harsh. Maybe those people don’t get enough loving attention to develop into thoughful humans in our rush rush rush capitalist countries.
Point taken. So if this is true, why can’t they figure anything out through books, television and community organizations? Isn’t opportunity there for everyone. If there is a business in a poor neighborhood, perhaps someone has money or has became successful to an extent.
People who are rich may have fear to lose their money and their luxury life. People who are poor possibly have a lot of different fear causing stress and frustration and keeping the mind too occupied with other things. If we would live in a society where there is compassion, cooperation, and attention for details things might be very different. The reality is that a lot of people work five days a week, possibly come home tired with little energy and attention to raise their children in harmony. What is the education part of the parents and what is the education part of schools ? If there would be respect for planet Earth, and if we would have a bright future to look ahead at, then people likely would not litter garbage on the streets so much. Drugs abuse and criminality in poor areas are more visible, and maybe causing misbehavior as well. Drugs abuse and criminality among rich people is different and not so visible. And read from another comment, it is quite possible that in rich areas cleaning of trashcans is done much more properly.
stupid question: do you think rich people don’t litter or are you lacking the though there might be people paid to clean up outdoors in not-so-poor hoods?
Sorry to offend you.
There are no stupid questions.
