Keep some ties to the original subreddit, but try to get some distance from the “trap house” appropriation seems like a solid direction.

We still have to decide if we want the Chapo name to be part of the domain or not. Making a decision on that might make it easier so we can know how to focus our efforts on thinking up a name.

Also, I haven’t used these guys yet to buy any of my domains, but I was introduced to https://njal.la/ as a domain registrar that’s focused on privacy. They might be worth looking into when the time comes to buy the domain.

Definitely not something like straight-up chapotraphouse.win. maybe just chapo.win to even slightly distance us from the pod?

DirtbagLeft.gov ? Look, I know it’s not perfect, but it’s a pre-established term that works an umbrella for the various lefty flavors here, while growing past Chapo. If that’s too self-serious, then I heartily second @chmos@lemmy.ml 's suggestion for pigpoopballs.org
