Now that federation seems to be attained, how does it look in relation to communities? Does each node have its own c/fediverse, or are they somehow joined?
There are some federation test instances here to show it in action, here’s a sample post from one https://enterprise.lemmy.ml/post/21
Yes each instance has its own communities, so
startrek.lemmy.ml/c/main
anddune.lemmy.ml/c/main
are different communities, but you’ll be able to subscribe to both from one instance.I can see how that effectively synchronizes
startrek.lemmy.ml/c/main
anddune.lemmy.ml/c/main
from a front page point of view. Is there any way planned to see allmain
posts across all nodes? I’m wondering about the possibility for a user interested inmain
to see all the fediverse Lemmy content concerning it, for example.I can see how that effectively synchronizes startrek.lemmy.ml/c/main and dune.lemmy.ml/c/main from a front page point of view.
It doesn’t. A post from one will say posted to
main@startrek.lemmy.ml
. They’re completely separate communities.. Is there any way planned to see all main posts across all nodes?
You have to follow a community to see it in your feed.

I don’t think so, besides just viewing /c/all.
