If we’re being honest, that’s what’s most effective at attracting viewers.
Oh well, really if Peertube could attrack more ‘mainstream’ youtube creators then that would go a long way to popularize it. A few french ones have joined up or given their authorisation to post their videos so that’s cool!
I’ve been thinking of mirroring some popular YouTube videos with Creative Commons licenses onto Peertube, with the proper attributions of course. Not sure if I should do it.
I think if someone has put their videos iin a creative commons licence (or any other type of media) then it is their wish to have it shared. Perhaps you could contact the original creator ? That’s how linguisticae got their videos on peertube. Had to send a twitter DM to the guy to ask if it was really with authorization as the licence isn’t specified,though. :/
