These people keep bringing up “mArKeT sHaRE”
- Linux is free. How would it get market share?
- It’s quite difficult to get an accurate “market share” since user-agents can be faked.
EDIT: I wonder if Microsoft are making anti-Linux accounts to try and hamper Linux.
Because muh video games.
This is the relevant reason though. Also the other software. I use specialised software in work that runs only for windows and there problem with compatibility even under the same programs under the same system. Entire thing would probably explode if anyone on the line used linux.
Anyway, the problem is not Windows. The problem is again, capitalism.
have you tried kvm virtual machines? it’s much faster than using virtualbox or vmware or others.
this subreddit is a good place to start.
use a VM
The irony is that the majority of games can be played on Linux natively or with wine/proton. The games that mostly have been given major problems is those with an antiquated version of their kernel level anti-cheat software (which thankfully only works in the userspace on Linux) or some form of DRM.

Ironically some games actually run better with WINE+DXVK on GNU/Linux than natively on Windows. This is true especially if you have an AMD graphics card, since the amdgpu driver in the Linux Kernel is optimized better than the proprietary one that you have on Windows.
