I can only imagine a lot of these insane and heavily upvoted posts on reddit are just part of the good ol’ US psyops.

They’ve been pulling shit like this since back in the heydays of Fark.com when the military basically overran the entire site and made it look like thousands of people were suddenly super concerned with the green revolution in Iran out of nowhere. They also shadow banned anyone that pointed out what was going on.

God, it’s so hard to separate reality from fiction thanks to these spook fucks. I guess that’s the point.

It’s best to assume that on any social media site that is owned by amerikkan bigtech companies, that at least half the accounts you see are bots and another good chunk are someone’s second, third, fifth, … account, where “that someone” is likely a very biased person who may or may not have been paid by some party whose intentions may vary.

Like the other commenter pointed out, I too have seen something like this happen before. And some years ago I remember reading an article where someone was deploying a lot of bot accounts on reddit to conduct an experiment (I think it was something like, the bots would randomly either downvote or upvote a freshly created post by somebody to see how real people would react to that).

Also it’s very easy to buy upvotes, downvotes and comments:

        https://boostupvotes.com/

        https://www.appsally.com/products/reddit-comments/

        https://www.appsally.com/products/youtube-likes-comments/

        https://buzzvoice.com/youtube/comments/order

And if you’re a bit tech savvy you can even deploy your own bots with minimal effort. Programming a reddit bot is not hard, in fact there is a Python library for the reddit API which seems to be pretty popular.

Remember this comrades: PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET DO NOT AND WILL NEVER REFLECT A SOCIETY IRL. INTERNET POINTS HOLD NO VALUE WHATSOEVER.

Why do you think they do all of this? Because when they can pass off Nazism as “normal” then libs will gobble it up. Sure at first it’s just a bunch of bot accounts, but let those bots promote Nazism on reddit for a while and regular users will slowly start parroting the same talking points as well, then after a while you start hearing it in real life from friends and family.
