No no, Jacksonville NC. Very small military town right in the middle of the coastline. It has some really nice spots but, well…lots and lots of domestic abuse, strip clubs, absent/abusive dads and poverty.
Grew up there. Absolute shithole and there are countless videos of the police straight up beating people of color and homeless people I’ve seen people post. To give a general idea of the area, at least the poorer part I was in, I’d pass at least 2 dozen confederate flags on the way to school and my grandpa had a dog named the n word hard r. That said, there are some nice beaches, like really nice ones not even an hour drive or so out.
Yoooo another person who knows this tiny town??? There was some other person, more active a month or so ago I don’t remember their name, said they lived in Raleigh and used to live in Jacksonville. No freaking way, what a coincidence.
But yeah, yep, mhm, yes, that sounds like Jacksonville. It was basically a joke with me and my gf that every single block had 1 Confederate flag, 1 tattoo shop, 1 strip club, and 1 barbershop.
