Not that I´ve been following this case that closely but isn’t the thing that Depp is ‘innocent’ or whatever in this case? This is a honest question, my gf is watching it a lot and she and everyone else I know is siding with Depp in this. What’s wrong with the case in your eyes?
That he has been found guilty of domestic abuse by a judge more than once and is now running an obvious propaganda campaign against Heard. That he has dated an underage girl. That he’s yet another rich man using money to create the truth. That Depp is using male victims of domestic violence.
That this isn’t a trial about Heard abusing Depp, that’s ridiculous and she has been found legally to be his victim. This is a trial about her “defaming him” for talking about being an abuse victim without namedropping him. It’s not even taking place on the state they lived during their relationship.
But mostly, that people use this to stop believing victims of DV. That it has brought to the mainstream the ridiculous and false idea of “mutual abuse”. The idea that one must be a “perfect victim” to be defended from abuse. And that people can’t recognize litigation abuse or gender violence when they see it.
I’m so tired of the spectacle. I’m turning into the Joker.

i feel you. it’s disheartening seeing how quickly people fall into misogynistic thought patterns even on here lol
