However, this and Ukraine involves unprovoked invasions that in turn have an effect on the US’s national security interests. I’m okay with the US getting involved in that sort of case, when the citizens of the invaded country welcome the help.
Yes, but the US is not entirely innocent in this matter, it observes the expansion of NATO towards the Russian border. I remember very well when the Russians put their missiles in Cuba, why the US did it before, positioning its missiles in Turkey on the border with Russia.
