Our migration from SVN to GIT has already started! You can now access our new repositories on http://a-lec.org/ 😍 :
- https://forge.a-lec.org/speed-dreams/speed-dreams-data
The repos are now open! Please feel free to play around with them, ask questions, report feedback, etc.
To avoid confusion, please keep in mind the following TODOs:
- Migrate existing assets (tracks, driver liveries, cars) to their own repositories.
-
- This can be done at a slower pace, since we can only migrate assets whose licensing is clear and fully free (as in freedom).
-
- Non-free assets should be ideally hosted elsewhere.
-
- Illegal assets (e.g.: those under proprietary licenses and/or violating intellectual property, such as lancer09-wr) will not be migrated.
- Migrate existing tickets/issues from SVN to https://forge.a-lec.org/speed-dreams/.
- Make some suggested improvements to the in-game download manager.
-
- “Download all” button.
-
- Filter by category (car category, track type, robot type) and quality (pre-alpha, alpha, beta, production).
Just played this for the first time. It’s really really good. I’m gonna be playing this a lot.
We are happy you like our/your game. Cheers! 😉
Speed Dreams are made of gears.
Who am I to disagree? I race through the world and the seven seas.
Everybody’s drifting for something
Are we racing or drifting? 🧐
Pfff
Great idea to use this migration to get rid of legacy assets that are not free culture.
It was something that needed to be done, but it has taken a long time to check the source of many of them.
Is this a Mario Kart 64 reverse engineer?
mmmm, not .
It’s a racing simulation, so it has a strong focus on realistic physics and driving mechanics. In that sense, it’s kind of the opposite of Mario Kart, which is designed to be very forgiving of driving errors, and of course has power-ups and such.
I think you have explained it perfectly!
Oh, well, best of luck to you
Oh, well, best of luck to you
I assumed so because of logo but then clicked one of the links and it looks like a boring f1 or something
We know that our game is not for everyone, as we aim to make a simulation of real car racing (SimRacing), but we even have an arcade difficulty mode that may be more suitable for all kinds of not so niche audiences.
I have never played any of the Mario games, but maybe SupertuxKart is what you are after?
SuperTuxKart is definitely quite similar to Mario Kart; not completely equivalent, there are differences, but the general concept is the same.
SuperTuxKart is a great game, and it’s super fun!
