I got this reCaptcha on archive.is and it is too ironic not to share.

Not for much longer. Everything is going to be based on facial recognition soon. The only way to fix it is to ban the thing altogether.

in the very recent past facial recognition didn’t work well if your complexion was dark enough and mine is, but i don’t know if that’s true anymore.

It depends on how good the camera and the software are. They’re constantly getting better. And if the software is complex enough, even wearing a mask won’t help because the software may tag and track you because you’re different to everyone else in that case.

i hope that the spirit of capitalism in my country will create entire industries of masks, makeups, glasses, and clothes that are capable of defeating face recognition.

Nah there’s no market for that really and it’s also illegal in some countries (idk about the US).

not yet and that’s why the black market and the dark web exist.

it’s impossible for the police’s human eyes to detect that your glasses or your makeup is capable of reflecting the light that face recognition needs to identify you; at least for now.

It’s already banned in EU in public spaces.

        BUT

I’ve read those news a while ago so I don’t remember if there were any shady exceptions or don’t know if there were any changes made to it with time.

It’s already banned in EU in public spaces.

Which is honestly terrible. I know it’s the “it helps reducing crime by 0.1%” situation but it’s just not a great decision for healthcare. Public places are the only places where you do need a mask if you have a serious infection (COVID or not).

I thought you were talking about masks because that was the last thing I was talking about in this thread.

The fact that FR is banned there is pretty surprising to me considering the direction the EU is going now.

This is completely unrelated, but now is a good time to get into shooting paintball guns at pieces of circular glass about 2 cm in diameter.

It did. But it is pretty safe to assume these ladies did not give consent to be used in a training data set.
