Wallet makes sense in the back pocket. It’s been kind of the default for generations so much it’s a comedic point in TV Shows and movies at times. They’re generally malleable and an easy place to grab, for better or worse.

Phone on the other hand, I don’t get either. They’re rigid and can break quite easily if sat on. 🤷‍♂️

I keep my wallet in my back pocket because then if someone wanted to steal it they’d have to touch my butt thus making them gay.

      Checkmate, liberals.

I kept my phone in my back pocket when I was a teen until a rivet shattered the screen when I sat down.

Most front pockets on women’s pants are too small unless it’s the dreaded fake pocket (Curse you cute pair of jeans!). Thus usually in my back pocket while walking and not in use. It is removed when sitting though.

They did mention men specifically. Unless you mean you’re a man using women’s pants, in which case, fair enough.

Everyone here putting their stuff in their pants’ pockets… anyone here who just wears a belt bag everywhere instead?

Zoomies did that for a while, still see a lot of immigrant kids sporting that look.

It’s uncomfortable to walk up stairs and uphill when my phone is in my front pocket. Plus the movement to get it out from my back pocket is so much swifter.

Can we please get a “pause” button in navigation apps?

I don’t need to be yelled at to make a u-turn every 5 seconds just because I got off the freeway to get gas.

Or the constant “duh dun” noise as it’s recalculating the route while you’re driving around the station trying to find an open pump

There is but you have to actually go manually press it, which is generally more interaction with a phone than you should do while driving.

Not for most of them. All the ones I’ve used will let you turn off/stop the navigation, but not pause it. The closest you can get is turning the volume off.

      On Google maps:

Press the little x to stop navigation. Press the play button again to resume from your current position

No, the X stops that navigation session entirely, and that’s not what I’m looking for. Depending on where you are going, how many stops you have loaded, etc, you may not be able to easily start a new session. Breaking up the session also messes up any details about the overall trip, if anyone is trying to gather that.

Google Maps does have this function for Android Auto, so I’m not sure why the mobile Maps doesn’t.

I’ve mapped a quick access button on my steering wheel to “toggle navigation mute/unmute”. Best experience so far. Thanks to the engineer that decided to put that button there instead of a blank (when ordered without heated steering wheel).
