Why has Trump of all people become the right wing messiah? He’s literally a wet fart in human form

The secret is that liberals love to talk about him more than anyone else. And the more you tell these kinds of people "not to do something " the more theyll want to do it. So when liberals talk about how “dangerous” or whatever he is, theres about half the country who thinks its cool or edgy and votes for him out of spite.

If supposed Trump haters stopped talking about him for a solid 6 months after 2020, then its likely he wouldnt have made it past the primary.

Wish these idiots could learn that lesson. This election season has been 2016 on steroids for free negative press on Trump.

He’s an extremely wealthy white man who tripped ass forward in to wealth and power, he owns the libs, and he openly commits sexual violence and gets away with it. For Christian Fascists that is basically their Messiah. When you combine the prosperity gospel with fox news brain, patriarchy, and white supremacy then Trump starts to look a lot like god.

There’s a phrase I once heard to describe Trump, that he’s America’s biggest Small Business Owner, and that sums up why these people fawn over him. Conservatives fundamentally love hierarchy and they want capitalists at the top of that hierarchy, but their vision of the ideal capitalist is not the credentialed CEO reporting to a board representing a collective sea of rich investors, their vision of the capitalist class is a hierarchy of bigger and bigger sea-doo dealership owners.

The branding of Trump gives them that, that he’s the founder-owner-operator making all the big boy decisions on how to run his company, not a pencil-neck brigade of corporate bureaucrats. To them, he is the correction back to the “real” capitalism and capitalist class.

      this

He embodies the failson mythology that they love via MAGA

He is the avatar of their opposition to the neolib hellscape they mislabel as socialism/communism, etc. If your ideology is based in Calvinism, anti-communism and anti-woke, then he checks off a lot of boxes.

I heard somebody say once that evangelicals don’t believe Christianity is the last best hope for America, they believe America is the last best home for Christianity. I think that put it into perspective for me. That while some American Christians, nominally Catholics, will somewhat acknowledge some other parts of the world as being Christian, or having a population of Christians, Evangelicals do not believe this. For evangelicals The only time Christians exist outside of America is when they’re oppressed minorities in China, or middle eastern Christians being beheaded by isis. Evangelicals have made American civil religion part of Christianity much in the way pagan festivals were co-opted by early Christians to ease conversion.

A lot of evangelicals will accuse catholics of being non-Christians. It’s rooted in old school anti-Irish, anti-Italian racism. They will weaponize denominations against other minority groups when it suits them, only to turn around and claim those people when (like you said) it’s some other country doing something.

The United States is full of bubble world fundies that don’t consider Christians outside of the bubble world to truly exist in a meaningful way.

They live in a special hell-heaven on Earth that’s straight out of a Soundgarden music video.

Because he was the first in a while to really give red meat to the base. Smarter Republicans view him as a necessary evil in order to rile up support. Then he presided over a relatively okay economy and gave financial support during the pandemic. Most reps view him as a reminder of the pre-pandemic economy who actually tried to appeal to the base. This was done through racism and social issues of course but that’s enough.

There’s also something to be said about his anti-charisma. It’s like the McDonalds dinner for the football guys that twitter liberals went crazy over. Even though it was pretty weird, the average person still likes their McTreats and liberals shitting on it makes them seem out of touch. Donald Trump’s weirdness and anti-charisma reflects the average American. Every attack on his weirdness backfires and mainstream liberals are too brain-broken to try to convince people on policy.

He broke their brains in 2016-2020 and now he literally can’t do any wrong because people hate to admit they were wrong.

i agree with everything in your post except this. mainstream liberals are too similar to Trump in terms of policy to try to convince people on policy. their whole value prop comes down to “we’ll do all the genocide and racism you want but without any of the nasty impoliteness the republicans insist on”

I think you really hit the nail on the head there. The democrats and republicans have no dramatic difference in policy, abortion is one difference that comes to mind but Dems have proved they won’t protect it so they can’t really lean on that.

So they have to focus on culture war and aesthetics because they’re the same party when it comes to arming Israel, sealing the border, denying healthcare, and generally being the party(ies) of the rich ruling class
