We shouldn’t be waiting for revolution, we should be organising for Survival until Liberation.

Obviously printing newspapers and sitting back with a cigar is pointless, but you must know that the establishment will never let a Communist government come to power in the UK

I agree but having some level of local and provincial governance is acceptable; it’s not reformism if the ultimate goal is revolution.

People don’t stop believing in communism just because “social democracy” or welfare programs; in the 1950s to 1980s, they turned anti-communist due to widespread propaganda taken up to eleven and the fact that there were essentially no real communist victories (or communist-led victories) to speak of in the United States (and I imagine it was somewhat the same in other Anglo countries).

Simply saying that the working-class was “pacified with concessions” like the Internet MLs tell you doesn’t explain things; people want victories, even if it’s just a minor election, they want to be proven right that they can even make a small dent.

Simply surviving is not organizing; you have to create dual power (and that includes creating some people within certain posts within the actual state governance, even if it’s minor).

I mean, I agree that we have to survive until the actual event occurs, but simply survival is just waiting, and you can’t expand hte movement if you’re just surviving (and simply agitating from the outside).

Eh, maybe we already agree; I don’t claim to be an expert.

Yeah I’m not opposed to running in elections - I just think the campaign should be used to serve some other purpose since right now the British people are never going to vote en masse for a Communist candidate

Also, the CPB need to actually remember to submit their nomination papers next time lmaoo

I think I heard about that incident but didn’t believe it (but I can also believe that a lot of SolidNet parties are kinda old in terms of leadership).

Frankly, KKE has a great history, but its present is dire. It’s incredibly transphobic as well. Like, there are times where it has also been anti-neurodiverse (which has more attention, but think about that for a moment: they literally have a problem with people that even back in the 1960s to 2000s decade would’ve been mentally ill or disabled, which really rubs me the wrong way).

Also, I don’t mean to compare LGBTQ+ community to mentally ill or neurodiverse people, and I don’t see mental illness and neurodiversity as at all the same thing, but if we take what they say regarding “disabled” (I use that term loosely) people, then I would say that their view on the entire matter is downright fascistic.

              (I hope I’m making myself clear. 😵‍💫)

Dunno. One’s that are as prominent or have that same symbolic power as the KKE? Definitely not. They’re kinda at the top of the pyramid for a reason, but the fact that it holds a lot of sway may be the problem at the end of the day.

I’m sure there’s another somewhere in the country, but eh, it’s probably either too small or a Maoist organization (there are plenty in Greece, I think).

As much as I don’t like Maoists, I’d rather be in a non-transphobic Maoist party than a transphobic Khruschevite party (neither is ideal of course)
