This is why “authoritarian” China has capital controls. It’s also why imperial core states and corporate media call China “authoritarian”: because the capitalist class—which controls those states and owns the media—can’t tolerate state controls on capital. Any state that gets in the way of Western capitalist neocolonial plundering is “authoritarian.” It’s a major reason why the US keeps getting into wars of choice and prosecuting regime changes/color revolutions/Balkanizations.
