The state of the anti-war movement in imperial core countries is pathetic. Ppl who lived through the US wars on Iraq will tell you, we’re doing much worse now… liberals are begging for ww3 against China and Russia.
Wondering what changed (apart from the obvious erosion of worker rights and class consciousness post the USSR collapse). There is a lot of bloodthirst to the point that the ruling class is somehow more reasonable than the “polls”.
Media companies, who’ve always been hawkish, are much more centralized than a few years ago. So the strongest interests, including finance capital, military industry, tech, are all united in a push for war.
Social media has become a much more powerful indoctrination machine than print or TV news was ever capable of. If they want a war, its easier than ever to convince people to support it.
The US hasn’t had a war on its own soil for a while now, War doesn’t concern average Americans since it’s always something happening “over there”. Generations of this breathes apathy and gives room for corrupt psychopaths to go wild.

Its gotta be at least two things:
The US hasn’t had a war on its own soil for a while now, War doesn’t concern average Americans since it’s always something happening “over there”. Generations of this breathes apathy and gives room for corrupt psychopaths to go wild.
