KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday announced a military operation in Ukraine, claiming it’s intended to protect civilians. In a televised address, Putin said the action comes in response to threats coming from Ukraine.

In a time when world tensions were high, you jumped to conclusions and made them higher by exaggerating what happened. I don’t care if you don’t want to write an essay, that’s fine. Remember when Russian backed separatists shot down that airliner? Their defense was also “prove it”, “show me the evidence”, “the plane shot down itself”. Years later, we can see that this is simply a ploy to distract, distort and delay. These disingenuous tactics have become all too transparent.
