essentially, a bunch of linux/bsd users were unhappy that the computers they bought came with windows licenses they couldn’t get their money back for, so they organised a protest outside microsoft’s hq in california. it didn’t work, but it made microsoft’s scummy business practices a bit more known. i’ve linked a good video about it.
