    I think technically this is a message from Mastodon that was federated here. @communism is in the message because that’s how you need to reference the community in order for it to be federated? I’ve seen posts like this on other parts of Lemmy and it’s weird.

      Yeah I think that Mastodon treats Lemmy instances as groups, and when you @ a group it sends your post to everyone else following the group
