What kind of security cameras are you using?
I’m thinking about buying some but I don’t want my videos being uploaded to some third party servers.
Probably gonna use home-assistant so it should work with that.

Sure, that would depend on your firewall rules but you can allow incoming traffic from LAN/VPN clients easily enough.
Personally I just access streams through frigate since that’s much faster and easier.
