This is the fair and balanced type of reporting Germans fawn over their totally independent state media for.

Racist overtones aside, conquering foreign markets with their cars is the only thing that’s kept West Germany relevant since the annexation of the DDR, and that’s coming to an end.

Curious when Germany went to conquer the Chinese market in 1897 they did so with guns and warships not with trade vessels, i think these Germans forget what conquering a market looks like.

I’ve heard BYD will introduce brand new, solid EVs that cost around 20-25k. Compare that to the average 40-50k new EV and I think my choice will be made quickly.

Funny how the free market enjoyers don’t enjoy free markets all of a sudden when it’s not their white company doing it.

I bought a BYD Dolphin here recently and it will cost me around 3,600,000 JPY total (about 24,000 USD). I don’t actually have it yet, but it was remarkably affordable compared to some of the other cars I had test driven.

I didn’t get the long range version, which is a bit more, but for my needs it is absolutely perfect.

I remember being shouted down here for saying German state media is biased as fuck. So I guess this is unbiased reporting.

We clown German state media on Lemmygrad all the time. It’s really atrocious.

This doesn’t apply to DW since it’s directly funded by the government, but my favourite is when German libs insist that ARD and ZDF are completely one hundred percent independent because they get their money directly from German residents (as a compulsory fee) instead of the federal budget. As if that makes any difference to how well they lick the government’s boot and run journalistic cover for the economic elites of Germany, the EU, and the US.

DW puts out some of the the most blatant propaganda imaginable, competes with BILD for being one of the most contemptible German outlets, and that’s saying something because the entire German media landscape is atrocious.

Its a highly competitive race for that position. There’s also the Welt, the Zeit, Frankfurter Allgemeine, and if you count german newspapers in Austria and Switzerland there’s also the Neue Züricher Zeitung and Der Standard. A underdog in the race, but with a great track record for being horrible is the Taz.

Afaik the only two Anglo/Westoid markets that have had major Chinese manufacturer presence are Australia and New Zealand due to no longer having any local auto industry. In both markets Chinese EVs and even petrol cars are getting more and more common. Not surprising when you look inside a BYD or Haval and see what you get compared to a Toyota or Volkswagen that price.

This is just going to keep happening with more and more products until the West abandons its feigned belief in the “Free Market” and retreats head first into protectionism.
