A lifetime of western propaganda is hard to break. It’s been hard and confusing but finally, the utter hypocrisy on what is really going on in Palestine has really opened my eyes. It really is a hard pill to swallow. The west have just lost the plot completely. I hope more people, will realise the truth before its too late for humanity.

I try to ask people how israel is different from Russia, taking lands from another country because they believe it belongs to them. I get told that it’s completely different

Russia is also defending itself from US/NATO aggression, using its puppet fascist state of Ukraine to threaten it. The people in the annexed territories overwhelmingly want Russia’s protection from the Nazi regime. They’re not really similar, except in both cases the USA is behind it all.

How did US/NATO threaten Russian sovereignty in Ukraine to the point where it justifies invading a sovereign neighbor under false pretenses?

It’s a completely different situation. Ever since 2014, after the western-backed Euromaidan protests, Ukronazis (bunch of nazi battalions that have permission from the government to run wild) have been shelling Eastern Ukraine, killing MANY innocent civilians in the process. What Ukraine did (and is still doing to this day) can be considered genocide, since it systematically targets Eastern Ukrainians, who mostly speak Russian and tend to identify more with Russia.

Crimea held a referendum back in 2014 and most Crimean citizens voted to join Russia and the same also happened in the DPR and LPR in 2022. Guess what? The west’s excuse is that both referendums were rigged (they weren’t).

Oh, and remember how NATO broke their promise of not expanding eastward after the dissolution of the Socialist Bloc? Do you also remember how Ukraine constantly broke the Minsk agreements and how many times Russia tried to warn the west and Ukraine? By all means, this war is tragic and my heart goes to innocents who lost their lives, but it was predicted by many a long time ago.

Palestine was occupied by a settler-colonial state called Israel, the only democracy (aka US puppet regime) in the Middle East, that has slaughtered countless people and is now waging genocide against the Palestinians. It’s an ethnostate with policies that make it possible to dub it the modern Nazi Germany.

The situations are completely different. You’re looking at things from an idealistic point of view.

Well for one they’re not killing everyone. They don’t have laws that say when you become part of their country, you become an untermensch.

Russia doesn’t actually believe the land belongs to them. They believe they can get it. And that not getting it is dangerous. They belive they can get it because they have popular support, so after occupying it militarily, they’ll keep it politically by keeping the population happy. Compare that to Israel who wants the Palestinians gone.

I recommend watching a few videos from this man or someone else like him.
      https://www.youtube.com/@VideosfromMariupol
He’s is a Mariupol resident, talking about his experiences and the experiences of his peers surrounding the war in English. He makes pro-Russian videos, but it’s very materialistic mundane stuff. It’s not whatever ideological thing western media says they care about, he’s happy about increased safety, about infrastructure, about access to education, healthcare, jobs, basic things that directly affect everyone. Under Israeli rule, will Palestinian’s safety increase? Will their access to healthcare and dignified employment? Obviously not, they’ll be dead.

It’s fine if you think the YouTuber has miscalculated, or that it doesn’t excuse Russia. You don’t need to agree with him, it doesn’t matter. But you should hear from the people affected. And if you do, you’ll realise the two conflicts aren’t analogous.

Sorry, I thought this was a pro communist place, not a pro Russian place. I’ll let you be in peace.

Lemmygrad isn’t Pro-Russian. We don’t like the Russian state, we don’t like the bigotry that’s common in all walks of life. But Russia’s stated motivations, Russia’s narrative surrounding the war, it all makes sense, it’s all close enough to the truth, unlike the west’s.

To be clear, the Russian state is just another capitalist dictatorship like those in the west, and the only reason they aren’t an empire like the west is because they are weak. But materially, they’re fighting the enemies of humanity. We critically support Russia’s actions, because Russia’s actions are bad for empire and thus good for humanity.

Does that mean they should’ve escalated to war? I don’t know. Every life lost is a tragedy. But I do know it would’ve been avoided if NATO didn’t want it to happen. Russia’s demands were reasonable. And I also know that Russia is conducting it more humanly than NATO ever has. There’s no humane war, and this isn’t the closest you’ll get to it, I’m not excusing civilian casualties. I just think it’s dishonest to compare it to how Israel is conducting its war. There’s a 500 fold increase in daily civilian casualties between the two. And while my analyses of the situation concludes that escalating to war was a mistake, Russia now losing the war would be disastrous for us and for humanity, so we do hope they win.

It’s not. A lot of people here seem to confuse anti-western and anti-captialism with pro-russia and pro-china and will on one hand decry the evils of western hegemony and imperialism, while simultaneously using the other to jerk off autocratic, authoritarian, capitalistic regimes elsewhere. The idea that one can be anti USA imperialism and anti Russian/Chinese imperialism simultaneously is completely unfathomable to some.

The policy, practice, or advocacy of seeking, or acquiescing in, the extension of the control, dominion, or empire of a nation, as by the acquirement of new, esp. distant, territory or dependencies, or by the closer union of parts more or less independent of each other for operations of war, copyright, commerce, etc.

Re: China: building out islands to encroach on neighboring territories, helping aid international conflict and war efforts in order to build a more solid global position for themselves in the rubble, using the IMF playbook of offering unconscionable loans and infrastructure projects to third world countries as a means of securing land, resources, and fealty (soft imperial power), practicing wolf warriors diplomacy…etc.

Well, I can’t convince you for all I know, in regards to at least China (its fine if you support Vietnam, Cuba, Bolivia, you must at least have some sort of critical support for some socialist and anti-imperialist countries)… honestly, just go ask Dessalines for his views…

If he wouldn’t want us here, we wouldn’t be what we are today
