Often there is an industry standard software that people are essentially locked into, like Adobe. It seems like they’re pushing unwanted features lately, but people have to just suck it up.
Luckily if you need that feature, you can just download a different file manager. This is why I hate monopolies and love Linux and the FOSS community.
