      I would prefer an AMD, ARM, or RISCV processor, but I’m planning on buying one, so other companies will see the financial viability of not fucking their customers.

        pretty sure that if they get enough support, they will also listen to community and make new models (or just motherboards) that will have some non-x86 CPU on them.

        This with RISC-V and without the camera and mic would probably be the only way to sell me a laptop I don’t need :D (Posted from my 4-year-old but definitely adequate for another 4 years laptop)

          I am curious why the objections to the camera and mic. They have a shutter and hardware switch.

            I exclusively use external mic/preamp/adc, so a builtin mic is just a security risk. And if people know I have a camera they might expect me to turn it on for online meetings which I like to avoid if possible :D
