I’ve built voting sites like this one called simplevote, and in proper voting systems, its good to have both an anonymous mode, and an accountable mode.
I think for the most part tho anonymous is much better for lemmy, because people are more likely to “vote how they really feel”, if they know that their vote is secret.
The other thing is this is more content-based, rather than person-based, so when you get 30 votes on something, it really doesn’t matter who voted for it.
