• 2 things I can only add.

1- it’s the daily mail, treat it with caution and look much, much further than them for an actual story (they’ve also been known to make up quotes)

2- countries other than Canada made assisted suicide legal and do not have the problems Canada does with it.

Is their regulation much stricter? I had read that the numbers in Canada are going through the roof. If the euthanasia is restricted to, quoting another poster “when an 84 year old grandfather with terminal cancer, and multiple organ failure is being kept alive only through medical technology and wishes to have a respectful, painless passing that will lessen the pain his family has to feel” the numbers will naturally be low, but if they are doing it to people with non terminal disease or disability instead of giving them proper care this is certainly something else.

Also worth to compare the suicide statistics between Canada and those countries. If they don’t match the assisted suicide then you will know something is afoul in that system (beside being capitalist dictatorship that naturally drives people to suicide).

@yogthos@lemmy.ml can you please comment on that? I seen you post on lemmy multiple times about euthanasia in Canada
