Lenovo makes some damn good computers and is one of the few companies that actually seem to take Linux support seriously on their laptops. Also, I’ve seen thinkpads go to hell and back and still keep working, good luck with that on a macbook.

It depends what tier of computer you buy. Cheap Lenovo laptops are some of the worst quality computers that I’ve ever seen. The things barely work and just fall apart from regular use. Their mid to high-end laptops are usually great though.

Good to know. I have a t580 and it’s my favorite laptop by far.

      • Cheap <any brand> consumer grade laptops are always trashy. Even among those, HP, Acer and others can be way worse just because of lesser parts availability and worse customer support.

I think the consensus is HP takes the cake for worst budget laptops. Like they’re all not great and I’d rather buy a used high end laptop than a brand new low end one for the same price, but with the tech support stories I’ve heard about HP, yeah.
