I am much less optimistic… with the one side (who have a well deserved bad reputation) being basically starved into capitulation and the other a mix of revanchist local militia / regional state governments and a egomaniac president with autocratic tendencies, it is only a matter of time for this to erupt again. And that doesn’t even take into account the autocratic neighbouring state that is deeply involved in the conflict and has shown clear interest in keeping it going to destabilize the region.
they need a worse reputation fr. this thread has examples of Capitol Hill and NYT Bloomberg etc rooting for a party that started a civil war where they use child soldiers because they lost an election
