I never used Soundcloud so not sure what the difference is. And what would you compare Funkwhale with Spotify or something else?
In both cases it’s about music sharing but Funkwhale will look like a kind of federated spotify, its interface is more oriented towards discography management and music sharing between friends, family or communities. Currently they are implementing podcast management as well, which is a great thing for creators as well. Reel2Bits and its interface seems to be oriented towards music creators, so that they can easily share their creations. But the project seems still young, I don’t know if they will implement for example the possibility to comment music like in soundcloud. It’s a feature that I think is very much appreciated by the creators.
