Eh, that’s mean, the people fighting those wars are in a lot of ways victims of the shitty system too. Many go because their only other choice is starvation.

I agree that they’re still responsible for the stuff that they did and that they could just choose not to oppress others for their own salvation but, especially since they’re recruited young, hating on them seems useless at best and vengeaful at worst.

Also, unless we take arms against our own governments and stopping the wars in the middle east RIGHT NOW, we’re also semi complicit, just like the soldiers.

OK but making fun of people that have been disabled by war is not constructive, no matter how guilty they are.

I’m sick of seeing propaganda about how killing civilians made US soldiers sad and Middle Eastern people are bad. When do we get to sympathise with the millions of civilians?

I don’t understand. I never said that killing civilians is ok, that middle eastern people are bad or that being “sad” is an excuse for killing civilians.

All I said is that it’s shitty and counter productive to make fun of people hurting. It’s like picking on the weakest dumbest person out of a group of bullies. Yes, they’re part of a group of bullies but they’re the least dangerous and the most vulnerable of the bunch.

If you wanna be a tough guy picking on militaries, go for the assholes that are proud of it and the assholes that keep doing it even though they could stop at any time.

The ones with PTSD are not gonna be very pro war by now and, if anything, they are a possible ally. Hating on them and pushing them down is just for making you feel better and it’s a step backwards in the work for stopping the violence that the military is doing.
