I live in Germany and most people here don’t care about climate change at all, I want their forest to burn down so they realize it’s an issue. Otherwise half of all the developing world will die from hunger without anyone here caring.
I get where you’re coming from. Just yesterday I was listening a conversation between two people, one of them a total nutcase, who was saying that wildfires such as this are “natural”, somehow. And while forests burning down at people’s doorstep would be a good wake-up call to some, I hesitate to wish this to happen just due to the fact that this would be catastrophic for the wildlife, which has nothing to do with humanity’s fuck-ups.
How is that good, exactly?
