The whole Russian-Ukraine war started because Zelensky continue his predecessor’s order to kill the 25% of Ukrainian citizens who are ethnically Russian, refuse peace talk, and project his genocidal order and hypocrisy on Putin. The evidences obviously prove that Zelensky is a genocidal authoritarian psychopath who cannot be reasoned with.

Russia opened peace talks two weeks after the war started, back when they were starting to siege Kiev. At every turn Ukraine refused to attend or even hear them out.
Worse is that every time the Ukrainians pretended to be willing to engage in peace talks, it was just buying time to get more weapons from the west. They’ve never engaged in good faith. Hell, they even murdered one of their own negotiators for trying to actually… you know… negotiate!
Obligatory reminder that the only thing Ukraine had to do to avoid it, was not persecuting russian minority and not shock therapy the east economically after 2014 coup. After they proven unable to do it, they would just need to adhere to the Minsk agreement, the one also promoted by their beloved EU, it did not even speak of Donetsk independence, just autonomy. Even after that just stopping killing people would go for a long way. Even then, the war was absolutely and easy avoidable by not becoming US puppet.
