I’ve never run a Peertube instance so I don’t have any first hand experience, but I think I’ve heard comments here and there about it being hard to block toxic or otherwise undesirable instances from federating with your own instance? Is this true, and what exactly is the problem?

Yes, moderation was mostly ignored by Peertube devs, but recently they have started to improve it, adding things like comment reports, and removing fascist instances from their official website. But I didnt really follow the project, and neither did I do any moderation on peertube.social so I dont know how it is in practice. Maybe @Niquarl@lemmy.ml can comment more.
