    Look, I don’t care if this is reactionary: I prefer pdfs with OCR because they display better on my computer and I can help myself with TTS software.

    Purge me if you must.

      epub is text format as opposed to page formatting of pdf, which means it has better compatibility with TTS software as far as I know. Also if you use calibre you can adjust the looks and feel of your epub books cause it’s unformatted text so you can change the font, font size, background color, etc. even make it night mode. epub is just a much more robust format for books. pdf still has its uses for documents and books where the page’s layout is important but for most books that is not the case.

      also I’m not a zoomer and I don’t read on phone, I read on my linux PC. 😎

        I just haven’t found an epub reader with TTS I “love” for my laptop. I prefer Foliate to Calibre for epubs but I haven’t converted yet. Festival TTS works good enough with Okular and I’m stuck in my old ways. I’m so sorry.
