a few days back, the libretro github was hacked. all their repos were overwritten, issues and PRs all closed, etc.

github restored access to the owners, but said they were unable to fix any of the damage

if you’re using github, you need to have a backup of everything

    Needing to keep local backups of your online content? What a novel and new concept. Oh wait, it’s not.

    If you don’t take daily/hourly/whateverly local backups of whatever vital things you have online and expect whoever is hosting it to be 100% reliable in restoring that content, you have serious issues. This shouldn’t be news at all, beyond “libretro git got hacked, they’re fine now”.
