EDIT : Thanks to everyone who commented, I think I will try btrfs on my root partition and keep ext4 for my home directory 😃

If you are using the drive between Linux, Windows, MacOS and Android, exFAT is going to be the supreme choice. It is what I use for flash sticks and external HDDs.
